Modern worming treatments are both highly effective and virtually free from side effects.  This does not include the pet shop or supermarket products which are outmoded, ineffective and much more toxic than those available from your Veterinary Surgeon.

Puppies and kittens need to be wormed regularly from an early age.  Single dose combined treatments for round and tape worms are now available for both cats and dogs.   In general adult dogs and cats should be wormed four times a year.

Fleas transmit tape worm therefore worming will be required following a flea treatment if fleas or flea dirt is seen on your pet's coat.  Please ask for advise during the annual health check, or speak to one of the nurses or receptionists for advice.
