lab and paula.jpg (116942 bytes) Our laboratory is comprehensively equipped and is an important aide to making rapid and accurate diagnoses for the sick pet. We can also use the lab to monitor a patient's progress during a course of treatment.

The lab also enables us to run Pre- anaesthetic blood screens, which allow us to discover underlying health problems before putting a pet under anaesthetic.

The Lab consists of:

1) Automated Haematology machine - gives information about the numbers of the various blood cells in circulation.

vetlab.jpg (110643 bytes) Vet Lab - Biochemistry analyser.

2) Automatic Biochemistry machine- gives information as to the state of the various internal organs such as kidneys and liver.

3) Electrolyte Analyser - a vital piece of equipment when dealing with some uncommon conditions, but commonly useful for pets with bad diarrhoea or vomiting, or when on intravenous drips.

Microscope

4) Commercial laboratory standard microscope, for the examination of blood films, urine sediments, and other samples.
