Our laboratory is
comprehensively equipped and is an important aide to making rapid and
accurate diagnoses for the sick pet. We can also use the lab to monitor
a patient's progress during a course of treatment.
The lab also enables us to run
Pre- anaesthetic blood screens, which allow us to discover underlying
health problems before putting a pet under anaesthetic.
The Lab consists of:
Haematology machine.
1) Automated Haematology
machine - gives information about the numbers of the various blood cells
in circulation.
Vet Lab - Biochemistry analyser.
2) Automatic Biochemistry
machine- gives information as to the state of the various internal
organs such as kidneys and liver.
Vet Lyte
3) Electrolyte Analyser - a
vital piece of equipment when dealing with some uncommon conditions, but
commonly useful for pets with bad diarrhoea or vomiting, or when on
intravenous drips.
Microscope
4) Commercial laboratory
standard microscope, for the examination of blood films, urine
sediments, and other samples.
