Cats - Female: Queens
The same benefits as in female
dogs (bitches) apply:
 | Preventing unwanted
pregnancies. |
 | Health benefits - reducing
chances of:
 | Uterus infection. |
 | Breast tumours. |
|
 | Convenience:
 | Avoiding problems with
male cats "courting". |
 | Female cats an be very
noisy & disruptive when calling. |
 | No need to keep your
cat confined at least twice a year. |
|
In addition, queens can be
very promiscuous when in season and roam large territories in search of
males. This exposes them to a higher risk of road accidents, and
an increased risk of contracting Feline Leukaemia and FIV (see
the section on vaccination).
We strongly advise routine
neutering.
