We have a comprehensively equipped laboratory with automatic blood analyser and bio-chemistry machine. We have a long standing interest in laboratory diagnosis, and have been running a facility since 1992. We are able to perform a wide range of blood tests on site, with results available in as little as 20 minutes in urgent cases. This gives us rapid and accurate information which helps in the diagnosis of disease, and enables us to begin immediate treatment. We are also able to perform other tests which are less automated and more skill based, such as the examination of cell smears and urine sediments.

Blood samples are taken for one of four reasons:

	To help in the diagnosis of disease.
	To monitor the treatment of the disease.
	As a screen for underlying problems before an anaesthetic.
	As part of a geriatric check up.
